Air pollutant control and strategy in coal-fired power industry for promotion of China’s emission reduction

摘要: Coal-fired power industry has always been the major power source in China. As coal-fired power industry consumes around a half of China’s coal production, it is always thought to be a big air pollutant emission source. As more and more strict legislations in coal-fired power industry have been issued by the government, the emission performance in coal-fired power industry has been drastically reduced recently. Based on a brief review of the development of emission control in China’s coal-fired power industry, the affecting mechanism among the development of installed capacities of emission control device, pollutant emission, and emission performances in coal-fired power industry is studied. According to a systematic study on the development of emissions of classified categories, the role of coal-fired power industry as a pollutant source is reevaluated. It is found that, coal-fired power industry has contributed the most to China’s emission reduction, and the barycenter of air pollutant emission has been transformed to other high energy consumption industries, like heat, iron/steel, and cement. Then some development strategies are suggested, such as maintaining the current emission standard in coal-fired power industry; expending the coal-fired power emission standards to categories of heat generation and supply, nonmetallic mineral production and ferrous metals smelting and processing; and controlling other heavy metal by consulting the method of Hg control.

Numerical simulation of biodiesel fuel combustion and emission characteristics in a direct injection

摘要: The effect of the physical and chemical properties of biodiesel fuels on the combustion process and pollutants formation in Direct Injection (DI) engine are investigated numerically by using multi-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. In the current study, methyl butanoate (MB) and -heptane are used as the surrogates for the biodiesel fuel and the conventional diesel fuel. Detailed kinetic chemical mechanisms for MB and -heptane are implemented to simulate the combustion process. It is shown that the differences in the chemical properties between the biodiesel fuel and the diesel fuel affect the whole combustion process more significantly than the differences in the physical properties. While the variations of both the chemical and the physical properties between the biodiesel and diesel fuel influence the soot formation at the equivalent level, the variations in the chemical properties play a crucial role in the NO emissions formation.

清洁煤电大气污染物近零排放技术与工程应用 Article

摘要:

我国能源以煤为主,发电是煤炭消费第一大户。针对煤电大气污染物排放带来的严峻生态环境问题,本文开展了清洁煤电近零排放技术研究与工程实践,评估了近零排放机组长周期运行状态,并探究了重金属汞协同和专门控制技术。结果表明,提出的近零排放技术路线煤质适应性强,应用到全国101台燃煤机组,大气污染物烟尘、SO2、NOx排放浓度低于燃气发电排放限值,长周期运行时排放浓度小时均值达标率超过99%,发电成本增加约0.01 元·(kW·h)–1。污染物总排放量降低约90%,有效改善了环境空气质量。近零排放机组汞排放浓度为0.51~2.89 μg·m–3,投运改性飞灰(MFA)专门脱汞系统,汞排放浓度可低至0.29 μg·m–3, 相同脱除效果下运行成本仅为国际主流活性炭脱汞的10%~15%。通过50 000 m3·h–1燃煤烟气中试平台研究,掌握了多污染物脱除过程中相互影响规律,形成了排放达到不同浓度限值的解决方案;结合示范应用,提出并实现了新的近零排放煤电“1123”生态环保排放限值,即烟尘、SO2、NOx和汞及其化合物排放浓度分别不高于1 mg·m–3、10 mg·m–3、20 mg·m–3和3 μg∙m–3,为“提高污染排放标准”提供了工程技术支撑。

WATER POLLUTION AND AGRICULTURE: MULTI-POLLUTANT PERSPECTIVES

摘要:

Agriculture is an important cause of multiple pollutants in water. With population growth and increasing food demand, more nutrients, plastics, pesticides, pathogens and antibiotics are expected to enter water systems in the 21st century. As a result, water science has been shifting from single-pollutant to multi-pollutant perspectives for large-scale water quality assessments. This perspective paper summarizes and discusses four main highlights related to water pollution and agriculture from the multi-pollutant perspective. These highlights reveal the spatial and temporal distribution and main sources of multiple pollutants in waters. Based on the highlights, a scientific agenda is proposed to prioritize solutions for sustainable agriculture (UN Sustainable Development Goal 2) and clean water (UN Sustainable Development Goals 6 and 14). This agenda points out that when formulating solutions for water pollution, it is essential to take into account multiple pollutants and their interactions beyond biogeochemistry.

Establishing Profiles for Systems Engineering Standards: A Great Help for Companies to Manage Their Processes

摘要: In this paper, we discuss how to establish profiles of system engineering standards for companies. To define an appropriate system engineering standard for a company, this paper presents a detailed comparison between the current releases of the main system engineering sta-ndards (ANSI/ EIA-632, ISO/IEC-15288 and IEEE-1220), and explains how to choose the most adapted one according to the company practices. When no standard completely corresponds, the paper illustrates how to elaborate a tailor-made standard on the basis of specific required characteristics of the company or of the project, following a multi-standard approach, leading to extend and adapt a sta-ndard by importing some elements from another.

An approach to calculating allowable watershed pollutant loads

摘要: To improve the management of discharge pollutants loads in the reservoirs’ watershed, an approach of the allowable pollutants loads calculation and its allocation, based on the water environment model, was proposed. Establishment of the approach framework was described at first. Under the guidance of this framework, two major steps were as follows: modeling and scenario analysis were involved and should be applied to support the decision of discharge loads management; Environmental Fluid Dynamic Code (EFDC) model was selected as the kernel model in this framework. In modeling step, spatial discretization for establishing cell map in model, data preprocessing, parameter calibration and uncertainty analysis (which is considered as the significantly relevant factor of the margin of safety (MOS)), were conducted. As a result of the research, the model-based approach presented as a combination of estimation and precise calculation, which contributed to scenario analysis step. Some integrated modules, such as scenario simulation, result analysis and plan optimization were implemented as cycles in the scenario analysis. Finally, allowable pollutant loads under various conditions were calculated. The Chaihe Reservoir in Liaoning Province, China was used as a case study for an application of the approach described above. Results of the Chaihe reservoir water quality simulation, show good agreement with field data and demonstrated that the approach used in the present study provide an efficient and appropriate methodology for pollutant load allocation.

Consolidated standards of reporting trials (CONSORT) for traditional Chinese medicine: current situation

摘要: The reporting standards for randomized controlled trials were first published in 1996 by a group of scientists under the name “CONSORT,” which means consolidated standards of reporting trials. Revisions followed in 2001 and 2010. A draft of the CONSORT for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) was published in both Chinese and English in 2007. After publication of the draft, comments were solicited from the medical community. Some papers did raise concerns about which items should be included in the CONSORT for TCM such as the rationale of the trial design, intervention, outcome assessment, and adverse events. We have now reached the next step which is the finalization of the CONSORT for TCM. Three tasks remain. First, the major changes in CONSORT statement 2010 should be integrated into the CONSORT for TCM. Second, Chinese drugs from minerals and animals should be included in the guidelines. Finally, agreement must be reached among the working groups. Once the draft is finalized, wide dissemination and co-publication will be considered.

“互联网 +”标准体系构建研究

摘要:

随着信息技术的蓬勃发展,“互联网 +”迎来了新的发展机遇,与此同时“互联网 +”标准难以匹配“互联网 +”技术、产业和应用的发展需求,标准体系亟待构建。本文旨在开展“互联网 +”标准体系构建的理论研究,梳理了与“互联网 +”相关的通用关键技术标准、融合标准、细分行业标准体系的基本情况,凝练未来发展面临的问题。研究提出了我国“互联网 +”标准体系的初步方案,涵盖总体、安全、共性支撑、服务融合、指南与评估、应用 6 个方面;结合协同制造、现代农业、智慧能源、益民服务、智能交通、绿色生态等细分行业的标准化需求,针对性提出“互联网 +”标准制定、应用与推广机制建议。扎实的试点示范、科学的人才培养、稳妥的长效机制,是我国“互联网 +”标准化工作的切实保障。

Raising Standards of Engineering Ethics through Student Teams

摘要: Reducing the frequency of engineering accidents is a “people’s responsibility.” Increased attention to engineering ethics is inevitable. Engineering ethics are a stance, attitude or outlook, not easily learned by lectures. This article explores the utility of student teamwork by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior and acknowledging the benefits of professional knowledge and professional ethics possessed by the professional teachers, under professional teacher guidance, in order to improve levels of engineering education ethics. There are 5 key points: ① team member recruitment standards; ② team size; ③ team name and motto; ④ team group activities; ⑤ extending the spirit into the post-graduate period.
